Associate of Ministry/Theology

Courses and Requirements

Prerequisite: Diploma of Biblical Studies

 

How Long Will This Take a Student?

For a part-time student working:
5-8 hours per week (realistic for a busy adult):

  • Low end: 10-12 months

  • High end: 12-15 months

For a motivated full-time student:
20 hours per week:

  • Could finish in 5-6 months

 

Bottom Line:
This is a solid, serious Associate’s degree-level workload.
It’s challenging but doable.

 

 

To successfully earn credit for each course, students are required to:

  1. Submit a 100-word summary for each individual lesson or video, unless otherwise stated.

  2. Write a 1,000-word essay providing a detailed overview of each completed course.

  3. Complete a 2,000-word final essay on a selected topic (see list below) after finishing all required courses.

  4. Take a comprehensive final exam upon completion of all coursework. To receive the exam, simply request it by email.

Students must choose a topic from the list below for the 2000 word essay.

 

Applying Biblical Principles to Leadership in Ministry

Practical Apologetics: Defending the Faith in the Public Sphere

Counseling with a Biblical Worldview
Discuss how biblical teachings from Spiritual Warfare and Forgiveness can be integrated into real-world counseling and pastoral care situations.

Implementing Biblical Theology in Church Teaching
Reflect on how to incorporate theological concepts into church teachings, using material from Understanding Theology and Gospel, Salvation, and Other Religions.

Practical Evangelism: Reaching the Modern World
Analyze methods for effective evangelism in contemporary society, incorporating principles from Why I Trust My Bible and Historical Jesus.

Conflict Resolution in the Church
Explore how biblical teachings on conflict resolution, drawn from Spiritual Warfare and Forgiveness, can be applied within a church or ministry setting.

Leading a Bible Study with Effective Hermeneutics
Discuss how to lead a Bible study using sound hermeneutical principles learned in courses like Hermeneutics and Bible Survey, A Big Screen Perspective.

The Role of Women in Ministry: Biblical Perspectives and Applications
Examine the role of women in ministry, focusing on biblical perspectives and practical applications in modern church settings, drawing from Women and Leadership in Early Christianity and Women of the Bible.

Christian Philosophy in Action: Impacting Personal and Ministry Life
Discuss how Christian philosophy can shape personal decision-making and ministry leadership, using principles from Christian Philosophy and Theology of the Reformers.

Building a Biblical Worldview in the Modern Church
Reflect on how to build and nurture a biblical worldview in a church context, integrating material from Biblical Worldview and Spiritual Warfare.
